²⁰ Therefore, David went forth to Baal-perazim and defeated them there. Then he said: “The Lord has broken through the battle lines of my enemies as though they had been breached by the flood waters of a river.” That is why that place is called Baal-perazim. ²¹ The Philistines abandoned their idols there, and David and his men carried them away.

²² However, the Philistines made another invasion and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim.
